Buy, sell & transaction status

From an estimated quote to a confirmed transaction.

Place a trade

A displayed price is research data. A quote is a time-limited estimate for your actual amount and route.

  1. Open Trade from a token or portfolio position and check whether Buy or Sell is selected.
  2. Verify the trading wallet, token mint, input asset, and balance.
  3. Enter the amount. Percentage and Max controls help fill an amount; still check the total and SOL required for costs.
  4. Review estimated output, minimum received, slippage, tax, fees, deposits, and warnings.
  5. Press the final submission control. Approve in your external wallet if prompted, or use the authorized Quick Trade path.
  6. Wait for the transaction status and check its explorer link. A signature or submission message alone is not final confirmation.

Why does the quote change?

Quotes expire and markets move. The review refreshes expired quotes and identifies changed values. Recheck the current amount, minimum received, and costs after a refresh.

Estimated received is the current quoted output. Minimum received is the lower output threshold described by the quote. Slippage is the permitted execution tolerance, not a fee you necessarily pay. Raising it can allow a worse fill; it does not fix every route or balance error.

Preset and instant-buy controls

With an active Quick Trade wallet, Alpha offers Instant Buy with a preset SOL amount. It skips the normal quote review. Its settings include Confirm before each instant buy; turning that off lets a click execute immediately without another confirmation. Check the amount and setting before using it. A preset is a convenience setting, not a spending cap or a promise that a trade will execute at the listed price.

The preset amount excludes network fees. Quick Trade can sign without a separate wallet popup. Use the regular Trade flow when you want the full quote review before submission.

Submitted, pending, failed, or confirmed

Pending means the final outcome has not yet been established. Check the transaction in the explorer and let the app reconcile the status before submitting the same trade again. Retrying a transaction with an uncertain outcome can create a second trade.

A failed swap may still have incurred network costs if it reached the chain. A rejected wallet approval is different from an on-chain failure. Use the transaction signature and status to distinguish them.

A confirmed transaction cannot be canceled from StonkScout. Selling later is a new trade with its own route, price, and costs. A route can disappear or become too illiquid to sell.
